l'Ouest (2016 - present) is a personal photo research portraying contrasts and similarities between the Western World I was born in, and my fathers place of birth: Baladougou (Guinea, West-Africa).
The series portrays estrangement as well as humor, and is meant as a personal research, over a longer period of time. The viewer is being exposed to Third World goods, but will also recognise products used in the West. It creates a playful and sometimes estranging image, but also makes you reflect. Aside from goods I zoom in on people. What are they doing? With who do they hang out, what do they look like? I'm intrigued by beauty and like to portray my take on this matter.
